The Guangzhou International Urban Innovation Award (Guangzhou Award)'s urban innovation workshop was held in Daejeon, South Korea, on Oct 12.

The workshop was titled "Urban Innovation and Inclusive Development", and it aimed to stimulate people's participation in interactive learning through the analysis and discussion of innovation in the Guangzhou Award-winning cities.

More than 30 representatives of international organizations, experts, and scholars, including representatives of Durban in South Africa, Buenos Aires in Argentina, and the Committee on Local Economic and Social Development of the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), understood the key processes involved in urban innovation.

Nicholas You, a Guangzhou International Urban Innovation Award (Guangzhou Award) senior consultant, hosted the exchange activities and introduced the 6th Guangzhou Award and the 2022 10th Anniversary Celebration Conference of the Guangzhou Award.

The Guangzhou Award was jointly established by Guangzhou, the UCLG, and the Metropolis, also known as the World Association of Major Metropolises, in 2012 to stimulate and promote global urban governance innovation by evaluating and awarding urban governance innovations that have global value.

The Guangzhou Award is held every two years, and five cities are selected each time. It has been held five times since 2012.
