Huadu District issued Notices No.70 and 71 today, saying that it will strengthen COVID-19 control and prevention measures across the District and impose temporary lockdown measures on some areas. As a result, three stations along Metro Line 9 and some bus stops in Huadu District will be temporarily shut down. The details are as follows: 

Notification of Strengthening COVID-19 Control and Prevention Measures in Huadu District (No.70)

In accordance with COVID-19 control and prevention requirements, Huadu District COVID-19 Control and Prevention Command Center made the decision to strengthen COVID-19 control and prevention measures as follows:

1. A district-wide PCR testing shall be conducted on all residents and visitors in Huadu District starting from 8:00 October 13. Please follow the notification of your town (subdistrict) or your village (community) committee and get tested in your allocated time slots, and practice proper personal protection. This testing is universal and should cover every household and every individual.

2. Dine-in services of catering service providers (including drinks shops, snack shops and breakfast shops) are suspended. They must only provide food takeout and online or telephone delivery service.

3. Entertainment venues (KTV, karaoke bars, ballrooms, and game halls), all the enclosed and semi-enclosed venues including cinemas, indoor swimming pools, theatres, bars, gyms, internet bars, billiards halls, chess and poker rooms, mahjong rooms, escape game rooms, foot massage centers, beauty & massage salons, hair salons, bath centers, indoor attractions, libraries and museums shall suspend operations.

4. All kindergartens, primary and middle school in Huadu District shall suspend their return to school and offline teaching. All training institutions shall suspend offline teaching, and nursery and childcare institutions shall suspend their services.

5. Companies and institutions are recommended to work from home. The management of entry and leaving shall be strictly implemented in village (community) committees, residential communities, public institutions, compounds, enterprises, and public venues including measures such as temperature checks, venue code scanning and urging people to wear masks correctly.

6. Visitors who have traveled to Xinhua, Huacheng and Xiuquan Subdistricts since October 8 must report to the local community and take a PCR testing immediately.

Measures in this notification are implemented on the day of promulgation. The containment measures will be adjusted on a dynamic basis according to developments in the epidemic situation, results of PCR testing as well as COVID-19 control and prevention requirements.

Notification on Imposing Temporary Lockdown Measures on Partial Areas in Huadu District (No.71)

In accordance with COVID-19 control and prevention requirements, Huadu District COVID-19 Control and Prevention Command Center made the decision to impose temporary lockdown measures on partial areas starting from October 13, 2022. We hereby notify you of the details as follows:

Residents of the following areas are prohibited to exit the zone and deliveries must be collected on a staggered schedule:

Partial areas in Xinhua and Huacheng Subdistricts: the area encircled by Sandong Avenue in the north, Huadu Lake in the south, railway track in the west, and Fenghuang North Road in the east (excluding the area encircled by Sandong Avenue in the north, Huadu Square in the south, Gongyi Road in the west, and Tiangui Road in the east);

Partial areas in Xiuquan Subdistrict: Yabao New Town Residential Community.

All residents in the abovementioned areas will need to take two PCR tests within one day starting on October 13. Please refer to the notifications published by your local towns (subdistricts), villages (communities) for specific arrangements.

The control zones and containment measures will be adjusted on a dynamic basis according to developments in the epidemic situation.

Important: Three Stations Along Subway Line 9 and Some Bus Stops in Huadu District Will Be Temporarily Shut Down

Guangzhou Public Transportation Updates

To contain the COVID-19 infection risk in Huadu District, the following subway stations and bus stops will be temporarily shut down starting from October 13, 2022:

I. Subway 

Subways will skip Huacheng Road Station, Huaguoshan Park Station, and Huadu Square Station along Line 9. All exits and entrances of these stations will be shut down, and public service at these stations will be halted.

II. Bus

Bus stops located in the area encircled by Sandong Avenue in the north, Huadu Lake in the south, Fenghuang North Road in the east and Guangzhou North Railway Station in the west in Huadu District will be temporarily shut down. Buses traveling through stops in this area will either skip said stops or shorten their routes.

Buses that will skip these stops: Hua 1, Hua 2, Hua 4, Hua 5, Hua 6, Hua 7, Hua 9, Hua 10, Hua 11, Hua 16, Hua 17, Hua 17A, Hua 17B, Hua 18, Hua 19, Hua 19B, Hua 21, Hua 22, Hua 23, Hua 25, Hua 25B, Hua 26, Hua 27, Hua 29, Hua 30, Hua 31, Hua 31B, Hua 32, Hua 36, Hua 37, Hua 38, Hua 8, Hua 80, Hua 85, Hua 84, Hua 86, Hua 92, Hua 93, 701, 703, 712, 713, 715, Night 92.

Buses that will shorten their routes: Hua 39, 702, 705, 705, Night 87.

We will publish a separate notice when services at the abovementioned subway stations and bus stops are resumed.

Guangzhou Bureau of Traffic and Transportation urges residents to abide by traffic control measures for epidemic prevention, pay close attention to official COVID-19 updates and make your travel arrangements accordingly. Please wear your masks properly, voluntarily present your health code and have your temperature taken. If you have been to key exposure areas and sites, please take a PCR test at the nearest test facility. You will also need to practice good personal protection and avoid public transport.
