On Sept 7, Guangzhou Metro announced that starting from Sept 8, all metro line stations require health and venue code scanning to enter the station as part of its efforts to improve COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control in key transportation sites.

For some stations, passengers can enter the station after they have their health code (Yuekang/Suikang code) checked on their device and their code is normal. To enter other stations, passengers need to scan venue codes.
