GZFAO | Updated:2022-05-26

The Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council held a press conference on May 23. At the press conference, National Health Commission's spokesman Mi Feng said that nucleic acid tests should be available within a 15-minute walk in provincial capitals and cities with over 10 million people.

Guangzhou starts to build its network of COVID-19 detection to make nucleic acid testing services within a 15-minute walk available, with some detection booths set up in Huadu, Huangpu and Zengcheng.

Huangpu District plans to add 63 nucleic acid sampling sites by the end of this month, all of which will be open to residents for free, and push forward with a nucleic acid sampling service circle within 15 minutes' walk which will take less than 20 minutes to queue up.

According to Guangzhou Huangpu Info (广州黄埔发布), as of May 24, the first batch of 6 sets of sampling booths have been put into use in East Mall, Huangbei Community Neighborhood Committee, Greenland Central Plaza, Heyuan Bus Station Site, Luogang Wanda Plaza, and Guangzhou Science City Commercial Plaza (东方汇广场、黄陂社区居委会、绿地中央广场、和苑公交场点、萝岗万达广场、科学城商业广场).

On May 23, Guangzhou's Huadu District added the first batch of 5 nucleic acid testing booths according to the requirement of a 15-minute circle of nucleic acid testing services.

The 5 testing booths, which are also Guangzhou's first batch, are set at Laiyoulai Shopping Mall, New Century Plaza, Sunac Land, Agile Mall, and Huadong Market (来又来商场、新世纪广场、融创乐园、雅乐城广场、花东市场).

The setting of testing sites is based on population size and distribution, geographical location, as well as traffic and site conditions. With precise and scientific calculation, it should also meet the requirements of "within 15 minutes' walk and less than 20 minutes' queuing".

The testing sites are mainly set up at fixed locations, supplemented by small mobile ones. Currently, a total of 69 pilot testing sites have been set up in Huadu. On this Saturday (May 28), another 11 testing booths will be added to two pilot areas, namely Xinhua Subdistrict and Huadong Town (新华街、花东镇).

At present, Zengcheng has set a total of 132 pilot sites, covering 13 towns and subdistricts, providing residents with testing services within a 15-minute walk, according to Guangzhou Zengcheng Info (广州增城发布).
