On May 7, Guangzhou reported 7 local confirmed cases (2 were previously reported as asymptomatic cases), 1 imported confirmed case and 6 imported asymptomatic cases. Eleven COVID-19 patients have been newly discharged, while 163 still remain in the hospital.

As of 24:00 May 7, 2022, a total of 5,675 positive cases have been reported in the city. These include 2,779 confirmed cases (1,839 imported cases and 940 local cases) and 2,896 asymptomatic cases (2,639 imported cases and 257 local cases).
