Guangzhou reports 17 new COVID-19 cases

On May 4, the Guangzhou CDC cautioned that people coming or returning to Guangzhou from other provinces must provide a negative COVID test report within 48 hours, immediately report to their community, hotel, or employer, and receive two nucleic acid tests within three days after arrival. Besides, these people have been suggested to avoid leaving home unless necessary or participating in group dining or other gatherings. The Guangzhou CDC also reminded citizens to wash their hands often, keep indoor spaces ventilated and immediately go to a nearby hospital if they experience symptoms like fever.

Guangzhou COVID-19 Update for May 4

On May 4, Guangzhou reported 11 local confirmed cases (1 was previously reported as an asymptomatic case), 6 local asymptomatic cases, 3 imported confirmed cases and 4 imported asymptomatic cases. Nine COVID-19 patients have been newly discharged, while 165 still remain in the hospital.

As of 24:00 May 4, 2022, a total of 5,637 positive cases have been reported in the city. These include 2,749 confirmed cases (1,835 imported cases and 914 local cases) and 2,888 asymptomatic cases (2,624 imported cases and 264 local cases).
