On April 20, Guangzhou reported 8 local confirmed cases (2 were previously identified as asymptomatic cases), 4 local asymptomatic cases, 1 imported confirmed case and 4 imported asymptomatic cases. Eight COVID-19 patients have been newly discharged, while 233 remain in the hospital.

As of 24:00 April 20, 2022, a total of 5,380 positive cases have been reported in the city. These include 2,595 confirmed cases (1,809 imported cases and 786 local cases) and 2,785 asymptomatic cases (2,533 imported cases and 252 local cases).
