On April 18, Guangzhou reported 19 local confirmed cases (11 were previously identified as asymptomatic cases), 5 local asymptomatic cases, 1 imported case (previously identified as asymptomatic case), and 4 imported asymptomatic cases. Six COVID-19 patients have been newly discharged, while 220 still remain in the hospital.

As of 24:00 April 18, 2022, a total of 5,338 positive cases have been reported in the city. These include 2,572 confirmed cases (1,808 imported cases and 764 local cases) and 2,766 asymptomatic cases (2,519 imported cases and 247 local cases).
