On April 16, Guangzhou reported 21 local confirmed cases (3 were previously identified as asymptomatic cases), 6 local asymptomatic cases, and 18 imported asymptomatic cases. Two COVID-19 patients have been newly discharged, while 184 remain in the hospital.

As of 24:00 April 16, 2022, a total of 5,291 positive cases have been reported in the city. These include 2,527 confirmed cases (1,805 imported cases and 722 local cases) and 2,764 asymptomatic cases (2,512 imported cases and 252 local cases).

The 1st patient is a 57-year-old Chinese woman who lives in Dagang Village, Baiyunhu Subdistrict, Baiyun District. She was identified as an asymptomatic case on April 15 and has now been diagnosed as a confirmed case.

The 2nd patient is a 38-year-old Chinese woman who lives in Nantian Xincun Community, Tangjing Subdistrict, Baiyun District. She was identified as an asymptomatic case on April 14 and has now been diagnosed as a confirmed case.

The 3rd patient is a 70-year-old Chinese woman who lives in Dagang Village, Baiyunhu Subdistrict, Baiyun District. She was identified as an asymptomatic case on April 11 and has now been diagnosed as a confirmed case.

The 4th patient is a 50-year-old Chinese woman who lives in Dagang Village, Baiyunhu Subdistrict, Baiyun District.

The 5th patient is a 43-year-old Chinese woman who lives in Dagang Village, Baiyunhu Subdistrict, Baiyun District.
