On April 3, Nansha district conducted regular nucleic acid testing on workers in key industries and one person's test result came back positive for COVID-19 the next day. The details are as follows: 

The patient, a 51-year-old man, tested negative on March 30 and 31. However, the routine test result on April 4 came back positive, and it got double confirmation from the Guangzhou CDC later in the day. The patient was transferred to Guangzhou No 8 People's Hospital for treatment. Further examination confirmed that he had mild COVID-19 symptoms.

In response, municipal and district departments launched an emergency plan that includes epidemiological investigation, contact tracing, as well as control and disinfection measures on key exposure sites. Currently, every identified close and secondary contact has been quarantined, while COVID-19 testing and other response measures are well underway.

Based on the epidemiological investigation results, Nansha district has designated the following lockdown zones, partial lockdown zones, and restricted zones:

Lockdown Zones: Hehui Hotel (188 Zhennan Road), Wenji Restaurant (179 Lanbei Road), 40 Ping'an Street of Wan'an village, 2 Dazhong Street of Da’ao Village, and 3 He'an Street in Lanhe Town; the COVID-19 testing point of Yangfanjiayuan (Building B3). These areas shall be completely locked down, and all residents shall be under mandatory home quarantine. Necessary services and goods will be delivered to their doorsteps.

Partial Lockdown Zones: Lanhe neighborhood committee, Niujiao village, Wan'an village, and Da'ao village in Lanhe town. Residents shall not leave the zone, and deliveries shall be collected on a staggered schedule.

Restricted Zones: The whole area of Lanhe town and Longxue Street. Social activities and gatherings will be restricted, while non-essential outbound trips will not be allowed.

We should stay vigilant in our COVID-19 response. Please wear a mask properly and comply with the safety protocols, including scanning and presenting the health codes as required, taking your temperature, as well as monitoring your health. Once you develop any COVID-19 symptoms, such as fever, dry cough, malaise, reduced sense of smell and taste, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, conjunctivitis, myalgia, and diarrhea, go to the nearest fever clinic immediately with proper protective measures. In this case, public transport should be avoided.
