On April 3, Conghua detected one positive COVID-19 case among the close contacts of a COVID-19 patient that was reported outside Guangdong. The details are as follows: 

The patient, a 49-year-old man, arrived in Guangzhou from outside Guangdong on March 29. He tested negative on March 29 and 31. On April 2, after he was identified as a close contact of a COVID-19 patient outside Guangdong, the Conghua district CDC immediately put him under quarantine and gave him another test. He tested positive this time and the reviewed result from the Guangzhou CDC also came back positive the day after. The patient was then sent to Guangzhou No 8 People's Hospital for treatment and quarantine. He exhibited no clinical symptoms.

In response, relevant municipal and district departments launched an emergency plan that includes epidemiological investigation, contact tracing, as well as control and disinfection measures on key exposure sites. Currently, every identified close and secondary contact has been quarantined, while COVID-19 testing and other response measures are well underway.

Based on the epidemiological investigation results, Conghua district has designated the following lockdown zones, partial lockdown zones, and restricted zones as follows:

1. Lockdown Zones: The area encircled by Fucheng Road in the east, Lane 6 of Fucheng Road in the south, Baocheng North Road in the west, and Fucheng Road in the north. The above-mentioned area shall be completely locked down. All residents shall be under mandatory home quarantine. Necessary services and goods will be delivered to their doorsteps. The list management will be implemented and residents' basic livelihood will be ensured.

2. Partial Lockdown Zones: The area encircled by Tangquan Road in the east, Lane 6 of Tangquan Road - Lane 6 of Fucheng Road - Lane 6 of Baocheng Road in the south, Shangheng North Road in the west, and Fucheng Road in the north (excluding the lockdown zones). Residents shall not leave the partial lockdown zones and deliveries must be collected on a staggered schedule.

3. Restricted Zones: The area bounded by Heming Road in the east, Wangcheng Avenue in the south, Wangsha Road in the west, and Beixing Road in the north, excluding lockdown zones and partial lockdown zones). Social activities and gatherings will be restricted, while residents shall not leave the restricted zones unless necessary.

The above measures will take effect on April 4, and will be adjusted on a dynamic basis. Residents of the above-mentioned areas shall cooperate with COVID-19 testing and other safety protocols as required by their street committee and residential community.
