You may have noticed that Guangzhou published Notification No 29 and No 30 within a very short period of time. The issuance of these notifications is aimed at building a stronger shield against imported COVID-19 cases. You may find these notifications irrelevant, because you haven't left Guangzhou recently. However, these notifications do matter greatly. Do you remember what happened in March? Several visitors tested positive for COVID-19 only after they had arrived in Guangzhou. If you happened to have encountered any of them, you might have caught COVID-19 too.

Anything you say and do in everyday life can make up a small part of Guangzhou's shield against COVID-19.

For example, if one of your colleagues has just returned to Guangzhou, you may kindly ask them, "Have you taken a PCR test?" or "Have you signed up for health administration?" When you go out with your friends, you can set a good example by voluntarily scanning and presenting your health code. Also, if you plan to get together with friends or family members whom you haven't seen for a long time, you should try to limit the size of gatherings, and if any of them is travelling from outside of Guangzhou, make sure to ask them to get two PCR tests taken within three days and sign up for health administration. You may have to reschedule if they have failed to complete these tasks. 

In addition, since the Tomb Sweeping Day is approaching, if you have any plans to travel, you must carefully read Notification No 29 and No 30, as well as make appropriate arrangements for the holiday beforehand to prepare for the health administration procedure once you return to Guangzhou.

Now you may have seen why Notification No 29 and No 30 are so important. Every resident should bear in mind the requirements of these two notifications. COVID-19 containment requires concerted efforts from everyone. Let's act together and take precautions. We should all scrupulously follow all the COVID-19 control and prevention requirements. 

Apart from following the rules ourselves, we should also remind others to follow the measures listed in Notification No 29 and No 30. We are obliged to do so to ensure the safety of ourselves and of others. Let's work together to guard and support Guangzhou.
