2 asymptomatic COVID-19 cases reported in Huangpu district

On March 16, Huangpu district reported that two people tested positive among the close contacts under quarantine, and they were diagnosed as asymptomatic cases of COVID-19. The details are as follows.

Asymptomatic case 1: The patient is a 30-year-old woman who is the wife of Mr. Chen (a case reported on March 16 by Huangpu district). She tested negative on March 3, 10, 15, and 16, and has been staying in Guangzhou since March. On March 16, her test results from the Guangzhou CDC came back positive. She was later diagnosed with an asymptomatic COVID-19 case. The patient has been transferred to Guangzhou No.8 People's Hospital for quarantine and treatment. Her neighborhood has been locked down, sampled, and thoroughly disinfected. All environment samples were negative.

Asymptomatic case 2: The patient is 27 months old and is the son of Mr. Chen (a case reported on March 16 by Huangpu district). He tested positive on March 16 and was diagnosed with an asymptomatic COVID-19 case. The patient has been transferred to Guangzhou No 8 People's Hospital for quarantine and treatment.

Based on the initial epidemiological investigation findings, Huangpu has designated a lockdown zone, a partial lockdown zone, and a restricted zone as follows:

Lockdown zone: Building A1, A2, and A3 of Kaixin Dongfang Huating Residential Community (No 67 Chunhui Second Street, Yunpu neighborhood). The aforementioned areas shall be completely locked down, and all residents shall be under centralized or home quarantine. Necessary services and goods will be delivered to their doorsteps.

Partial lockdown zone: Kaixin Dongfang Huating Residential Community (No 67 Chunhui Second Street, Yunpu neighborhood). Residents are not allowed to leave the zone. Deliveries must be collected on a staggered schedule.

Restricted zone: The triangle area encircled by Ronghuan South Road, Kaichuang Avenue, and Huangpu East Road of Yunpu neighborhood. Social activities and gatherings are strictly restricted in this area.

These measures will take effect on March 16, 2022. Residents in the aforementioned zones shall not travel outside Guangzhou unless necessary and shall cooperate with the local street committee and residential community in COVID-19 testing and other safety measures.
