In 2022, Guangzhou will host high-level international conferences, such as the Imperial Springs International Forum, enhancing the city's international visibility and influence, as well as better serving China's overall diplomacy.

The foreign affairs office of the Guangzhou municipal government (GZFAO) will deepen bilateral and multilateral cooperation by expanding Friendship City exchanges and cooperation through the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement, as well as through events like the 2022 Asia Youth Leaders Forum.

The office will deepen cooperation between Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Macao, as well as build high-standard youth innovation and entrepreneurship bases in Hong Kong and Macao.

With the help of major foreign affairs platforms like the Understanding China International Conference, Guangzhou will share the story of China and the Communist Party of China on a global stage.

In 2022, the office will strive to build 10 to 15 international streets (communities) by 2025, as well as promote the legal and standardized construction of foreign language signs in public places across the city.
