The Baiyun Station of Exit-Entry Frontier Inspection in Guangzhou held a meeting on Feb 11 to set its work plans for 2022 and to review the achievements it made last year.

In 2021, the station provided customs clearance services for nearly 840,000 people and nearly 39,000 transportation vehicles. It also investigated and dealt with nearly 3,000 illegal entry-exit cases. Its clearance volume of exit-entry personnel ranked second in China.

The station checked and cleared more than 1,100 people with fever or symptoms related to COVID-19, as well as completed inspections of nearly 30,000 flights related to COVID-19 prevention and the transportation of production materials last year, ensuring economic and social development under normalized COVID-19 prevention and control measures.

In 2021, the total number of entry-exit personnel at the station decreased by 71.53 percent compared with 2020. However, the number of illegal cases detected at ports increased by 52.63 percent in that period.

An official of the station said that the station will continue to make use of Guangzhou's regional location advantages, improve the modernization level of its border inspection work, and contribute to the city's economic development in 2022.
