The Guangzhou International Cooperation and Exchange Center (GICC) held a concert to celebrate the Chinese New Year on Feb 8.
Zhan Decun, director of the foreign affairs office of the Guangzhou municipal government, and Tu Hongzhe, a leader of the foreign affairs office of Guangzhou municipal government, attended the concert.
The famous violinist Lyu Siqing and the young pianist Liu Shihua were invited to be special guest performers at the concert.
Lyu, who won the gold award of the Paganini Competition, one of the highest international awards for the violin, performed Chinese and global pieces, exemplifying a positive interaction between China and the world, while also offering a New Year blessing, as well as showcasing the open and international atmosphere of Guangzhou.
The concert was broadcast live on various online platforms, drawing a total of 15,000 viewers, as well as triggering active discussion among domestic and overseas audiences.
