Baiyun resident tests positive for COVID-19

On Dec 3, 2021, a hotel staff member in Baiyun district tested positive for COVID-19. He works at a quarantine hotel for inbound travelers and is tested regularly. Baiyun district launched an emergency response plan and we hereby notify the following:

The patient is 50-year-old Mr Xie, who lives in Poly Ziyun Garden, Xinshi Street. Prior to Dec 3, his previous routine PCR test results were all negative, but his latest test result came back positive on Dec 3. 

Xie has been transferred to the Eighth People's Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University for medical observation. We have implemented temporary control of key places including Poly Ziyun Garden, Zijin Garden, Xinshi Tangyong Primary School and Junhe Wenxing Hotel. PCR screening will be conducted immediately to all residents living in the controlled areas. We kindly request your cooperation with the government and the community staff to take the PCR tests in an orderly manner. We also request that you follow official information, don't spread rumors, stay vigilant, practice self-protection, wear masks properly, wash hands frequently, keep enclosed areas ventilated, and maintain social distancing. If you experience a fever or other symptoms, please avoid taking public transportation and go to the nearest fever clinic immediately.
