Guangzhou and Novosibirsk of Russia signed a memorandum online to strengthen communication and cooperation on Sept 28, making Novosibirsk a new friendly city of Guangzhou.

Up to now, Guangzhou has established friendly relations with 98 cities in 64 countries.

Guangzhou and Novosibirsk will carry out friendly communications in fields spanning economy, trade, culture, science and technology.

Novosibirsk is the capital city of Siberia, Russia. It is the largest city in Siberia and the third largest city in population after Moscow and St Petersburg. 

It is an important center of science and technology, military and education in Russia as well as the center of trade, finance, science and technology, manufacturing and culture in the Asian region of Russia.
