A communication event marking the one-year anniversary of the establishment of the friendly city relationship between Guangzhou and Kyiv, Ukraine was held in Guangzhou on Sept 29.
Liu Liu, deputy director of the foreign affairs office of Guangzhou municipal government, said that the two cities have carried out deep communication and cooperation in areas spanning pandemic prevention and control, education and trade since September 2020 and Guangzhou is willing to keep working with Kyiv to bring more benefits to the people in both cities.
Dmytro Kamkov, the acting consul general of Ukraine in Guangzhou, expressed his gratitude to Guangzhou for offering support and assistance in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic as the medical suppliers from Guangzhou were among the first batch of international organizations to provide assistance to Ukraine.
It is expected that more cooperation will unfold in sectors such as technology, economy, trade, education, culture and tourism between Guangzhou and Kyiv.
