On Sept 10, one close contact of a reported asymptomatic person found in Tokai Hotel in Yuexiu district tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Guangzhou municipal health commission.

The individual, who works in Tokai Hotel, was quarantined for medical observation as a close contact of the asymptomatic person. Previous nucleic acid testing results on Sept 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 came out all negative. On Sept 10, the individual tested positive. After that, the individual was transferred to Guangzhou Eighth People's Hospital and was diagnosed as an asymptomatic case.

At present, no new close contacts or secondary close contacts have been reported. Experts predict that the risk of community transmission is very low.
