Guangzhou and Maardu, Estonia signed a memorandum to strengthen communication and cooperation on Aug 30, making Maardu a new friendly city of Guangzhou.

Friendly communication in areas spanning economy, trade, technology and culture will be carried out between Guangzhou and Maardu.

Maardu, located in Harju, is a part of Tallinn's urban circle, which is Estonia's biggest economic and cultural center. The Port of Muuga is the largest cargo port in Estonia and is partly located in Maardu.
