The ceremony for the operation of the transitional office of the Greater Bay Area Institute of Precision Medicine (GBA-IPM) was held in Nansha district on Aug 12. 

Created by the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, Guangzhou, the Nansha Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee, Fudan University and the China Health Industrial Alliance, the GBA-IPM aims at breaking new ground in precision medicine research and the application of major technological outcomes with its two bases in Fudan University and Nansha district.

The transitional office marks a new stage for the GBA-IPM development and it is expected to provide a new space for important research to be carried out, which will attract more high-level talents and accelerate the advancement of key technologies.

The preferential policies and geographical advantages in Nansha, and the experts from Fudan University, ensure a bright future for GBA-IPM, said Dong Ke, deputy Party secretary of Nansha district.

GBA-IPM is a major priority for Fudan University, and they will waste no time to introduce and cultivate high-level talents and achieve breakthroughs in research, according to Jin Li, vice president of Fudan University,

The GPA-IBM office buildings are scheduled to be completed in Nansha by 2025, according to officials.
