The celebration for this year's ASEAN Day was held at the consulate general of Thailand in Guangzhou on Aug 6.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of bilateral cooperation between China and ASEAN.

In the past three decades, the relationship between Guangzhou and ASEAN has seen rapid development and great achievements have been made through cooperation. Guangzhou has now established friendly-city relationships with eight cities in six ASEAN countries including Manila, the Philippines and Jambi, Indonesia.

Attendees at the celebration including Natenapa Kongsri, the consul general of Thailand in Guangzhou and Cang Feng, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province delivered speeches during the event, expressing their hope that the consulates general of ASEAN countries in Guangzhou can continue to function as a bridge to help deepen communication and cooperation between Guangzhou and ASEAN in various sectors. 

Liu Liu, deputy director of the foreign affairs office of Guangzhou municipal government, also attended the event.
