The second Sino-Swiss Sustainability Forum on Urban Water Management commenced online on July 13 and Sun Xiuqing, deputy secretary general of Guangzhou municipal government, was invited to deliver a keynote speech during the forum.

Sun said that Guangzhou has taken an active role in implementing a green development strategy.

In recent years, Guangzhou and Switzerland have carried out deep communication and cooperation in areas spanning environmental protection and green development.

Sun expressed his hope that more cooperation can be conducted between the two sides in areas such as urban water ecological restoration, water resources protection and utilization, and constructing ecological belts to achieve sustainable development.

The Sino-Swiss Sustainability Forum, jointly launched by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Swiss-Chinese Association, aims to push forward communication and cooperation between the two countries in areas such as regional environmental protection and green development.

Domestic attendees at the forum included representatives from various provinces and cities, such as Fujian province, Heilongjiang province, Guangdong's Guangzhou, and Zhejiang's Hangzhou.
