The Clifford educational program for Hong Kong and Macao students kicked off at Clifford School in Guangzhou's Panyu district on May 8.
Clifford School has received a total of nearly 4,000 students from Hong Kong and Macao since its establishment in 1996. In 2004, it set up a special class for overseas Chinese high-school students as well as high-school students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Currently, more than 1,100 Hong Kong and Macao students are enrolled in the school.
The new educational program is for middle school students and is intended to let them better prepare for high school.

Wendy Man Lai-hung, vice-chairman of Clifford Group, said during the opening ceremony that the group will spare no effort to support the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and make more contributions to the integrated development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in areas such as education and economy.
A staff member from the school said that the program will require the students to take two classes required for Chinese mainland middle school students such as Chinese, math, English, geography and PE, as well as optional subjects with more of a focus on Hong Kong, allowing them to learn more about both Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland
In addition, hands-on lessons related to traditional Chinese culture will be available.
