The English School Attached to Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Colegio Murakami, a high school in Brazil's Recife, forged an international sister school relationship online on March 9.

The agreement marks the first sister school relationship between Guangzhou and a Brazilian school, breaking new ground in the communication between youths in China and Brazil.

Guangzhou and Recife established friendly city relations in 2007, and the two cities have since carried out active communication in areas spanning the economy, trade, culture, tourism and urban construction.

Isabella de Roldao, vice mayor of Recife, spoke highly of the two schools' contribution in pushing forward communication between China and Brazil in education and culture.
