China's Spring Festival travel rush, also known in Chinese as "Chunyun", started on Jan 28 and will last through March 8. 

During these 40 days, the country is expected to see the world's largest human migration as people set off for family reunions or tours, with around 1.7 billion passenger trips forecast.

Metro

Guangzhou Metro is anticipating a surge in passenger volumes in a pre-festival travel rush from Jan 28 to Feb 7, with an expected daily passenger flow of about 8.1 million on average. The expected peak of returning travelers will begin on Feb 18, with metro lines anticipating about 8.39 million passengers on a daily basis.

To alleviate congestion, traffic adjustments will be implemented on the city's subway network.

On Jan 28 and Feb 11, subway riders can find medical kits, drinking water and baggage carts at some 11 metro stations with large passenger flows. They include Guangzhou South Railway Station, Guangzhou Railway Station, Jiaokou, Guangzhou East Railway Station, Airport North, Airport South, Tianhe Coach Terminal, Nanzhou, Huachenglu, Qingsheng, and Conghua Coach Terminal.

China's civil aviation authorities yesterday announced that another four China-bound passenger flights will be suspended due to COVID-19 cases onboard, listed as follows:

Ferry

Due to ship maintenance and dispatch difficulties, ferry services between Nansha Passenger Port and the islands of Zhuhai will be suspended on Jan 29 and Feb 5. Passengers can get their tickets canceled, refunded or rescheduled within one month from Jan 26, free of charge.
