Wen Guohui, mayor of Guangzhou, met up with Ethiopian Ambassador to China Teshome Toga on Dec 28.

Wen noted that Ethiopia is the first African country to set up its consulate general in Guangzhou, and that close communication and cooperation have been carried out between Guangzhou and Ethiopia.

Wen added that Guangzhou is willing to establish friendly relationships with cities in Ethiopia to deepen cooperation in various areas.

Toga spoke highly of China's achievements in fighting against COVID-19 and expressed his gratitude to Guangzhou for offering support and help for Ethiopian people during the pandemic.

Toga added that Guangzhou enjoys huge development potential and that Ethiopia values its friendly relationship with Guangzhou.

He also expressed his hope that more communication and cooperation can be carried out between Ethiopia and Guangzhou in areas spanning the economy, trade, investment and tourism.
