Wen Guohui, mayor of Guangzhou, Phil Goff, mayor of Auckland, New Zealand, and Eric Garcetti, mayor of Los Angeles, the United States, signed a memorandum of cooperation for the tripartite economic association among the three cities at an online ceremony held on Dec 21.

The tripartite economic association of Guangzhou, Auckland, and Los Angeles was set up in November 2014, achieving fruitful outcomes in areas spanning economy, trade, culture, education, and urban planning.

The three cities will start their third round of cooperation from 2020 to 2022. It is expected that the third round of cooperation will further push forward communication between the three cities and enhance international cooperation.
