The first Guangzhou Contemporary Art Fair opened at Guangzhou Haixinsha Exhibition Hall on Dec 16 and will last until Dec 20.

A total of 33 excellent galleries from home and abroad have been invited to showcase high-quality art exhibits, including modern paintings, sculptures, and multimedia artworks, aiming to turn the expo into one of the most influential modern art fairs in Asia.

The fair is also expected to offer a communication platform for local galleries in Guangzhou to conduct exchanges with outstanding ones around the world, bringing more development opportunities for Guangzhou’s contemporary art industry.

Ai Hai, founder of the event, said that it was the first time for 28 out of the 33 galleries participating in the event to showcase their pieces in Guangzhou, injecting new vitality for Guangzhou’s contemporary art scene.
