The preliminary assessment for the fifth Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation (Guangzhou Award) officially started on Dec 1 and the technical committee for the fifth Guangzhou Award was set up online on the same day.
The committee, formed by 11 experts from 11 countries, will start the one-month-long assessment of 273 cases submitted by 175 cities all over the world.
It is expected that the releasing conference will be held in the last 10-day period of December.
Hu Hong, vice mayor of Guangzhou, said that the fifth Guangzhou Award has achieved fruitful outcomes despite the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), gaining support and active response around the globe.
