The 10th Guangzhou International Light Festival officially started on the evening of Nov 18, with four main venues combining with innovative methods like online light shows and live streaming, showcasing the brilliant and colorful lighting works for more residents and tourists to enjoy.

In addition to launching the light festival on a cruise ship for the first time and having a drone show with different colors of light, this year's festival also carried out an online light show.

Hailed as one of the world's three major light festivals, the 10-year-old Guangzhou International Light Festival has become a calling card for the city's cultural tourism industry as it has received a total of 63 million visitors in its history and has been selected as a special cultural event for the International Year of Light of UNESCO.

Due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic this year, the Lyon Light Festival in France and the Sydney Light Festival in Australia were canceled, making the Guangzhou International Light Festival the only one being held as scheduled.

After opening the appointment, the 3,000 admissions on the opening ceremony were all booked in one hour.
