Five Hong Kong and Macao youths who are either entering employment or starting businesses in Guangzhou's Nansha district have been invited to share their experiences with nearly 100 Hong Kong and Macao youths participating in this year's internship program, Yangcheng Evening News reported on Aug 19.
The five representatives spoke highly of Nansha, describing the district as very suitable for graduates from Hong Kong and Macao to get jobs or become entrepreneurs, and adding that it is filled with development opportunities.
Hung Yat-hei, who was born and grew up in Hong Kong, graduated from Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management in 2019.
Hung was among the first batch of youth employees from Hong Kong and Macao to begin their induction at the Industrial Park Development Authority in Guangzhou Nansha New Area.
Hung has been taking part in communication activities between Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland since his teenage years. He said that his current work allows him to help Nansha attract more Hong Kong companies and projects, making a contribution to the integration of the two areas in terms of economic and social development.
"The work is quite different from what I learnt at university yet I find it interesting. I suggest that interns should not be limited by their majors and they should take more chances," added Hung.
