Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was awarded the "2020 Staff Service Excellence China" prize and was the eighth on the "Best Airports 2020: 70 million plus passengers" list by Skytrax on May 11.
Skytrax is a London-based research agency in the air transport industry. The Guangzhou airport has won the "Staff Service Excellence China" prize for two consecutive years.
This year's selection of winners of Skytrax's awards was made by airport passengers around the world from more than 100 nationalities by filling in the airport customer satisfaction surveys. More than 550 airports were valued during the selection process.
"We are glad to see that Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is pushing forward transformation and upgrades in its service and has grown into an advanced aviation hub in Asia. The staff members of the airport should be proud of their achievements," said Edward Plaisted, chief executive officer of Skytrax.
Qiu Jiachen, chairman of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, said that the airport has devoted great efforts in offering the best services for passengers.
The airport has set up translation machines at its information counters, offering language services for passengers from 53 countries, including French, Japanese, and German.
