The Guangzhou municipal science and technology bureau announced on May 12 that experts from Hong Kong and Macao are eligible to be chosen among Guangzhou's science expert group for the first time.

It is expected that high-caliber talents from Hong Kong and Macao can see more development space in Guangzhou and further contribute to the construction of the international scientific innovation center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Experts from Hong Kong and Macao can see less limitations as applicants can submit applications as long as they have worked in the relevant areas for more than five years and the age of applicants should be less than 65 years old.

Green channels will be provided for experts winning titles like foreign academician or member of evaluation committees from Hong Kong and Macao, such as Hong Kong's Innovation and Technology Commission and Macao's Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT).

The bureau has been devoting efforts in deepening communication and cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao, as well as improving the cooperation mechanism in scientific cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.
