Created by WinSing Animation, Lion Dance stood out and won the Best Short Film at the seventh Darbhanga International Film Festival, Xinhua reported on March 25.
Located in Guangzhou's Haizhu district, WinSing Animation is one of the leading and most influential animation groups in China. The company has achieved great success in creating animated features like GG Bond, Crazy Candies, and GOGOBUS.
Lion Dance is the first animated short film directed by Zhong Yu, who previously directed two segments of GG Bond. Zhong noted that he always hoped to tell a story featuring Guangdong characteristics through animation.

The short film depicts the story of a lion that is a forgotten dancing star who is devoting great efforts to return to the public eye.
The crew visited areas like Guangzhou and Foshan, interviewing local artists that have performed lion dances many times to collect relevant materials, as well as learn more about the history of the lion dance.
Lion Dance was one of the beneciaries of Winsing's Director Support Program, which selects three to five projects for further incubation every year.
Gu Zhibin, president of WinSing, noted that promoting the Chinese cultural spirit and its values through products of the highest quality will always be the goal of the company.
