Clifford L.K. Pang, Hong Kong general manager of the Clifford Group, has set up a foundation along with his wife of 10 million yuan ($1.42 million) for the control and prevention of the novel coronavirus since the epidemic outbreak, chinanews.com reported on Feb 26.

A hotel of 280 vacant rooms was also offered by the group for the local government of Foshan's Nanhai district.

In addition, Pang has also purchased more than 70 boxes of medical supplies, such as surgical masks, protective clothing, and disinfectant, when traveling in Australia during the Spring Festival. All the supplies have been donated to Guangzhou's Panyu district, one of the most densely populated areas in Guangzhou.

Clifford Group, headquartered in Guangzhou, is mainly involved in the comprehensive development of real estate, and it has also developed a variety of business spanning education, hotel, tourism, and logistics.

The investment made by the group in Guangzhou's Panyu district has boosted the rapid development of the local economy.

The group has also carried out measures like partly exempting tenants from rent at Clifford Estates, one of the commercial projects invested in by the group.
