The majority of the flights heading to Seoul, South Korea from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport have been canceled due to the rising number of novel coronavirus cases in South Korea, Nanfang Daily reported on Feb 25.

A total of seven flights were scheduled to run between Guangzhou and Seoul on Feb 25, conducted by Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, and China Southern Airlines, of which six of them have been canceled in advance. Only Asiana Airlines conducted a round-trip flight on that day.

Guangzhou Customs has carried out strict control at the airport, setting up five different areas for health quarantine.

"If we find a passenger has symptoms, such as fever, he or she will be transferred from the temperature measurement channel of medium-to-low risk to other areas marking a higher risk level," said Li Weidong, a staff member from the airport.

Li noted that different management methods have been applied to different areas and that strict disinfection will be carried out if a person enters an area with a lower risk level from higher ones.
