Air routes departing from Guangzhou to destinations overseas have gradually resumed operation, Guangzhou Daily reported on Feb 23.
China Southern Airlines has resumed its operation of the air route traveling from Guangzhou to Nairobi via Changsha starting from Feb 25, and the flight is conducted once a week.
Egypt Air will conduct the round-trip flight between Cairo and Guangzhou via Beijing from Feb 27 to March 28, as the company had previously announced they were suspending flights to the Chinese mainland until Feb 29.
The company noted that the resumed operation of its flight was a response to the travel needs of passengers from both China and Egypt. The company will decide whether to increase the number of flights to China after further assessments of the conditions in China.
Other foreign airlines have shown their support to China through cargo transportation.
Qatar Airways has continued its operation of the full cargo round-trip flight between Doha and Guangzhou despite the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
Five full cargo planes were sent from Qatar to Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou for free on Feb 21 to deliver more than 300 metric tons of emergency medical supplies, including masks and hand sanitizer donated by Qatar Airways.
