A cultural communication event between Guangzhou and Paris was launched at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France on Jan 19, showcasing the deep friendship between the two cities.
The event, first held in 2018, has been held three consecutive times in Paris.
Bao Wei, an official from Guangzhou, said that the event is expected to deepen mutual understanding, as well as to facilitate more communication and cooperation in the future.
Jean Francois Collignon, an academician of L'Institut de France, said that Guangzhou is an amazing city that enjoys a great reputation in technological innovation and economic development.
Famous songs from both Guangzhou and France were performed during the event.
Patrick Branco Ruivo, general manager of the Eiffel Tower, said that he was well received during his visit to Guangzhou during the 32nd Conference of World Federation of Great Towers held in Guangzhou in September 2019.
Ruivo noted that after his return from Guangzhou, he added Chinese on all guiding signs of the Eiffel Tower, which used to have only English and French signage, hoping to help Chinese visitors feel at home.
A 4K ultra HD large-scale documentary on human history The Amphitrite also made its debut during the event for a preview screening, with the documentary being officially released later this year.
