Guangzhou Night made its debut at the 2020 Winter Davos Forum in Switzerland on Jan 21, showcasing the city vitality through a series of cultural exhibition and promotion activities. 

The event attracted more than 300 government officials, business leaders, and noted public figures from over 10 countries and regions all over the world.

"Showcasing Guangzhou's charm through the platform offered by Davos can promote global cultural communication," said Wen Guohui, mayor of Guangzhou. 

Wen noted that while Guangzhou Night was held for the first time at Winter Davos Forum, it has been held at the Summer Davos Forum for five consecutive years. He invited all guests to visit Guangzhou and experience the charm of the city.

Guangzhou boasts a history of carrying out trade with countries alongside the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). It is home to 65 foreign consulates general, as well as has established sister city relations or cooperation with 83 cities around the world.

The city is filled with energy, as 880 companies are set up on average every day and the invention patent ownership per 10,000 residents has reached 33.4.
