A picture exhibition themed on China's achievements in building a well-off society and Guangzhou's efforts in reducing poverty opened in Paris on Jan 17.

A total of 50 pictures divided into four chapters were on display during the exhibition at ESMOD France, attracting many young fashion designers from the prestigious school that is known as the "Harvard of the fashion industry." 

The pictures on display were carefully selected to tell the development stories of China to visitors.

The organizer of the exhibition noted during the opening ceremony that France was the first west European country to forge diplomatic ties with China and that China's first cultural center set up in Europe was located in Paris.
