An agreement on the cooperation project between Guangzhou and Hong Kong in vocational education was signed at the Guangzhou education bureau on Jan 14.
The bureau signed a memorandum of cooperation with Hong Kong's Construction Industry Council (CIC), while Guangzhou Railway Polytechnic has signed another one with MTR Academy, a wholly owned subsidiary of MTR Corporation.
Fan Qun, director of the Guangzhou education bureau, noted that the signing of the cooperation project is an act to push forward the cooperation and communication in vocational education among Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Macao, while the project is expected to become a landmark project for cooperation in vocational education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The bureau and CIC will establish a communication platform for vocational education in the construction industry and carry out deeper cooperation in areas like cultivating technical talents.
Further communication and cooperation in areas spanning academic communication, teacher training, and vocational skills will be carried out among vocational schools between Guangzhou and Hong Kong to achieve mutual benefits.
