The Guangdong branch of China Eastern Airlines Co Ltd announced on Jan 1 that regular international flights between Guangzhou and Yangon, Myanmar will be available from Jan 28.
A round-trip flight is scheduled every day and the flight will be conducted by China Eastern Airlines' B73E aircraft.
Flight MU7089 will depart from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 00:10 am local time and arrive at Yangon International Airport at 2:10 am local time. Flight MU7090 leaves Yangon at 3:10 am and lands in Guangzhou at 8:10 am local time.
Gan Quan, deputy general manager of the marketing center of China Eastern Airlines' South China region, said that Yangon is the largest city in Myanmar and is an excellent Southeast Asia tourist destination.
Gan noted that the new flight will offer more choices for people living in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to travel to Yangon.
Currently, China Eastern Airlines operates about 70 flights every day at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, reaching 37 major domestic cities as well as Bangkok and Nagoya.
