An exhibition showcasing the achievements of the Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation (Guangzhou Award) opened at Guangzhou Urban Planning Exhibition Center on Dec 5.
More than 40 city governors, as well as experts and scholars from home and abroad participated in the unveiling ceremony.
In addition to showcasing urban innovation practices from previous years' Guangzhou Award, distinctive interactive activities have also been arranged, allowing the public to get a deeper understanding of the urban innovation achievements.
The Guangzhou Award, co-hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), the World Association of Major Metropolises (Metropolis), and the Guangzhou municipal government, has been held four times previously, gathering innovation practices from over 1,000 cities in the world.
Submissions for the fifth Guangzhou Award began to be accepted on Nov 14, and cities with innovation projects from all over the world are welcomed to take part.
