2017

• The State Council chose Guangzhou as one of the first pilot cities to introduce a public notification system of the administrative enforcement of law, a recording system of the whole process of law enforcement, and the legal examination and verification system of major law enforcement decisions.

• Guangzhou took the national lead to publish administrative law enforcement data. It promulgated the country's first regulation on the disclosure of administrative law enforcement data, which requires law enforcement departments in the city to publish the administrative law enforcement data of the previous year in a uniform time, scope, template and platform.

• Guangzhou took the mainland lead to apply the lawyer investigation system. Under the system, which was established by the city's bureau of justice, intermediate people's court and lawyers association, the success rate of lawyers applying for investigation reached 99.8 percent.

• Guangzhou was awarded the title of "model city of building rule-of-law government".

2018

• The Guangzhou administrative law enforcement supervision system was launched, offering real-time monitoring, electronic recording and statistical analysis of the city's administrative punishment of all law enforcement departments.

• Guangzhou Internet Court was established. It offers instant access to online services, including cross-city litigation, mediation, evidence collection, trial and delivery, at the click of a mouse, allowing litigants to complete lawsuits without leaving home.

• The decision of the standing committee of the Guangzhou people's congress on promoting the development of arbitration in Guangzhou was promulgated to help Guangzhou build an international arbitration center.

• The Regulation of Law-based Administration in Guangzhou won the rule-of-law government award in China.

• Guangzhou Commission for Political and Legal Affairs organized the 2018 Guangzhou "rule-of-law show", selecting and publishing 10 cases (events) of rule-of-law business environment construction in Guangzhou.

2019

• The decision of the standing committee of Guangzhou people's congress on supporting and promoting procuratorial organizations' public interest litigation work was promulgated. It provides institutional support for promoting better development of Guangzhou's procuratorial public interest litigation and building a co-construction, co-governance and shared social governance pattern in the city.

• The regulation to promote breastfeeding in Guangzhou, the country's first local regulation to promote breastfeeding, was passed. It stipulates that no organizations or individuals are allowed to discriminate against breastfeeding and the government should establish special maternal and child rooms and allocate special funds for the construction of the maternal and child rooms.

• The second Guangzhou "rule-of-law show" was held. It announced the results of the third session of the 10 middle-aged and young jurists of Guangzhou and the first 10 eminent legal professionals in Guangzhou.
