The inaugural flight between Guangzhou and Kolkata, conducted by IndiGo Airlines, was launched on Oct 21.
The launch of the flight route has made Guangzhou IndiGo's second destination opened on the Chinese mainland. It is also the 16th international and regional airline opened at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport this year.
The flight, numbered 6E 7301, departs from Kolkata at 20:40 and arrives in Guangzhou at 2:50, while the flight 6E 7302 leaves Guangzhou at 3:50 and lands in Kolkata at 5:05 every day. Passengers are able to book tickets on the official website of IndiGo Airlines (www.goindigo.in).
It is expected that more Chinese tourists will be attracted to experiencing India's Buddhism culture in Kolkata, and that tourists from India will be interested in experiencing traditional Chinese culture and local delicacies in Guangzhou.
"IndiGo will continue to expand its international network to meet customers' needs for both business and leisure," said William Boulter, chief commercial officer of IndiGo.
