Job fair offers match-making for enterprises and talents in Greater Bay Area

The city of Guangzhou hosted a job fair on June 18 to bridge talents and enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong-Hong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The 2019 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Talents Supply and Demand Fair was held at the Second Workers' Cultural Palace in Guangzhou. It was attended by more than 2,500 job seekers, of which one fifth signed employment intention agreements with enterprises at the job fair.

There were 203 enterprises offering job vacancies at the fair, including more than 20 companies based in Hong Kong and Macao, as well as 23 startups. The companies provided a total of 4,797 positions, with monthly salary mainly ranging between 4,000 ($582) and 10,000 yuan ($1,455).

The talents that enterprises were looking for covered areas spanning machinery manufacturing, food, hotels, sporting goods, clothing, insurance, software engineering, marketing, and project management.

More than 200 talents from Hong Kong and Macao studying at 10 universities like Sun Yat-sen University, Jinan University, and South China University of Technology attended the fair. 

Companies and job seekers were able to attend the fair free of charge. They were also offered a number of services provided by the organizer, such as introductions, employment guidance, and policy consultation. 

In addition, a total of 141 positions were offered by 23 enterprises to the disabled, including jobs concerning civil service, production, and services.
