Four groups of young debaters from Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen gathered in Yuexiu district in Guanghzou on April 13 for the finals of the 2019 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Youth English Debate Competition.

Over 120 primary and middle school students making up 32 teams from the Greater Bay Area signed up for the event and only four teams made it to the finals.

The young students debated heatedly on several topics and their performances were assessed by professors from Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the University of Macau who were invited by the organizers to be the competition's judges.

At the end of the competition, the team of middle school students from Guangzhou and the Hong Kong team of primary school students were crowned champions.
