Nearly 1,000 young talents from Hong Kong were given a chance to experience the rapid development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area through a special program held on Jan 19 in Guangzhou.
The program was organized by the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong SAR and the All-China Youth Federation. It aims to teach Hong Kong youth from all walks of life about Chinese culture and development.
Participants visited a number of cities in the Greater Bay Area during the two-day event, including Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Foshan, Zhongshan and Jiangmen. They were exposed to a number of distinct local cultures and experienced the strong economic vitality of the regions.
Chi Zhixiong, secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, said that various institutions from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao have been integrated to support young people from Hong Kong and Macao who want to study, work or start businesses in Guangdong.
To deepen cooperation among youth throughout the Greater Bay Area and provide support for young people from Hong Kong and Macao, a special Greater Bay Area Youth Home is currently being developed, and 20 institutions will take part in the association to offer services for young people in need.
